As expected IGN has posted the new Aliens Colonial Marines “Contact” teaser trailer on their site not a few minutes ago. The trailer begins with 3 squads of USCM Marines investigating what looks to be Hadley’s Hope, as Alien acid bruns through layers of the floor, the trailer ends with the marines engaging hordes of Aliens and a brilliant shot of the Alien Queen. The graphics look incredible, great job Gearbox! Have a look below:
Thanks to Sega, Gearbox Software and IGN for the new ALiens CM trailer!
GameInformer received an official statement from Sega today about the delay of the Aliens Colonial Marines title until this fall. Originally Aliens Colonial Marines was scheduled for a Spring 2012 release date, but unfortunately things don’t always go as planned, especially with game developing. Here’s the statement sent to GameInformer from Sega today:
“Aliens: Colonial Marines is a process of creativity and invention and those don’t necessarily follow the structure of an assembly line,” SEGA and Gearbox Software said in a statement sent to Game Informer.
“While setting clear goals, deadlines and predictions is helpful, they are often subjective. We don’t want to sacrifice the creative process just for the sake of following a blue print. We prefer to have the creative discovery shape that blue print because our goal is to make a great game, and we are prioritizing this goal over the previously targeted date.”
Not too disappointed about this news to be honest, I think I speak for many when I say I would rather wait an extra couple of months and have a masterpiece than wrap up development too early and end up with an un-polished product which only barely satisfies.
In related news our friends over at AvPGalaxy got the scoop on a new Aliens Colonial Marines trailer set to air tomorrow on IGN! Along with the update, a new screen cap was released for the game. (seen above)

It’s been mentioned for a couple days now that Patrick Wilson may play “Charles Weyland” in Prometheus according to IMDB, who previously had him listed as “Cocooned Man“. Mind you, IMDB still have Kate Dickie set to play the role of “Imora”; while in a newspaper interview with Kate Dickie we became aware of 9 days ago, her character’s name was mentioned to be “Mudow”. So, who knows if this is in fact accurate. But regardless we thought we’d make a mention of it anyways.

In related news, the official Prometheus website has been announced at: “PrometheusMovie.com” – however, there is no word as to when the official site will go live.
Update: Apparently Patrick Wilson is NOT Charles Weyland in Prometheus, according to his recent Twitter update: “@patrickwilson73 I’m not gonna make a habit on commenting on rumors, but I am NOT Charles Weyland in #Prometheus. IMDB is wrong. I am in it, though..”

A new Prometheus film poster has been revealed today. It differs slightly from the first one which was released. This version is apparently the new International Poster for Prometheus and is significantly brighter and shows more of the “Giant Head” statue which so many fans are speculating about.

The West Highland Free Press, a Scottish newspaper have reported that Ridley Scott and a crew of 100 were spotted on the Isle of Skye, a rocky outcropping in Scotland; where they were reportedly filming the final scenes of Prometheus. AvPGalaxy have uploaded a scan of the newspaper article and we’ve added a picture of the Isle of Sky below it.

MTV recently caught up with actor Guy Pearce at the Golden Globe the other day and managed to get a few answers out of him regarding Prometheus. For starters, he IS in the film Prometheus, putting many speculative theories to rest on if he was or not. Secondly, he tells us that Prometheus will have a ‘little bit’ of that 70s feel to it. Here’s an excerpt form the article:
MTV: When asked about his experience on set, Pearce said it was everything we’d assume it would be, amazing and fantastic.
Guy Pearce: “I’m only [in the film] for a minute, but it was a real honor to work with Ridley [Scott], to see what was going on,” he said. “I think Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace and Charlize Theron and everybody will do a really spectacular job.”
MTV: Before Pearce was whisked away from us to get settled into his seat, we asked him about the feel of the film, whether it has the old school “Alien” sheen from the late 70s or now.
Guy Pearce: “A little bit,” he admitted. “A little bit.”
