Predator: “Celtic”

Celtic is one of the Youth Predators seen in AvP. His name comes from his mask design. Celtic is the first Predator to engage in combat with the first Alien (Grid) in an epic battle in which he unfortunately loses due to a sneaky move by the Alien when nearing death. But leading up to that point, Celtic’s brute strength and dominant personality allowed him to slap the Alien around like a rag doll for a while, before getting sprayed with Acid and having to remove most of his armour. From there, he catches Grid in a net and follows him down into a room full of skulls. There, he brings out a cerimonial knife to finish the Alien as its trapped, but as Celtic nears its prey, the acid blood burns through the netting and Grid manages to get ontop of Celtic. From there, it’s all over as Grid sends his second jaw through Celtics helmet, skull and out the back all in one powerful blow. Cletic’s screen time may have been short, but no doubt it was entertaining.

Classic Weapons

New weapons include a new look on the Combistick, Wristblades,and Plasmacaster. Scar’s superweapon is the Self-Destruct Atom Bomb which took out the entire hive in order to stop an infestation to spread to the human population on Earth. They also have heavier body armor even though it dosen’t do so well agianst acid blood.

New Weapons

Celtic brought a new wepaon to the scene in Alien vs. Predator. We were introduced to the Knife that all three Predators carried. We know that it was not used as a melee weapon, but more so for a final blow, or finishing slice. Celtice was about to use it on the Grid Alien before it escaped and killed him. The Knife itself is very large, bladed on both sides and is kept at the side of the Predator, in a slot on the side of its leg. We notice Scar using it as more of a tool than an offencive wepaon, possibly this wepaon was used to help the prpocess in siezing the skulls of the Aliens, as we know it was acid-proof and was only ever exposed after an Alien was killed.

The “Arm Gun” or “Wrist Net” is only a Netgun that is attached to the wrist computer on Celtic’s armor. It has proved to be very durable agianst the sharpest of blades, but it was no use agianst acid blood.

Vision Modes

The thermal vision mode now seems to be visible in only red to yellow, as opposed to previous versions which consisted of blues, greens and reds. This could be due to the significant low temperature of the hunting climate in which they were in, so the sensitivity on the heat detection may have been increased.
