Aliens: Colonial Marines is set to be a squad based shooter which uses the setting of the Alien franchise to deliver tension, adrenaline and scares. As a group of four humans need to work together using their weapons and skills to take out a huge number of xenomorphs.
The developers at Gearbox say that players will be able to control one character at a time, issuing commands and switching between them at will, with close quarter combat between Marines and enemies played out via Quick Time events.
The game will be set at some point after Aliens 3 and will follow a team of Marines that explore well known locations, like the U.S.S. Sulaco, the LV-426 and a derelict alien spacecraft as they search for Ripley and other characters from the movie series.
Aliens: Colonial Marines is set to arrive on the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3, the PC Fall of 2012.

On January 26, 2012 - Sega confirmed the delay of Aliens Colonial Marines’ original release date of Spring 2012 to Fall of 2012.
