PREDATOR / Yautja – Creature Info

General Information:

The Predator; or “Yautja” as it is sometimes reffered to is an inter-galactic alien hunter that has starred in 4 films, two of which being grounded to its original story-line. Predator and Predator 2 starred the Predator in two different environments, but one similar goal. The Predator hunts other alien species in search for worthy prey, whome of which they mount the skulls of if they kill them in battle as a trophy. The Predator’s most favoured trophy is that of man. As seenin every blockbuster hit, the Predator fancys any worthy, healthy human that can pose a match to the Predator in its own environment.

The Predator travells through space on small vessels that carry a large number of hunters to hunt on various alien planets. Some of these ships house live ALIEN cargo, as seen in Aliens vs. Predator Requiem. They also can be used as transports for entire clans. These ships are extremely quite and stealthy and can pass over your head, not 20 feet and you wouldn’t hear a thing.

The Preadtor has an interresting code of honor and hierarchy. The code of honor states that no hunters may harm children, creatures with health problems, preventing them to defend themselves and anyone who is unarmed amungst other unknown laws. Breaking these codes of honor dishonors the hunter and demots his rank amungst his peers and fellow hunters. The Hierarchy contains Elders, who are the older, experienced hunters who lead clans on hunts, the Warrior who is an exprienced hunter and a rutheless killer with a combined skill and weapon ratio that no one dares face and Hunters. Hunters are your basic Predator, sometimes lone hunters, sometimes members of a clan.

Other levels of hierarchy that we know of is the “blooded” and “un-blooded” Predators. The Un-Blooded Predators are Predators that have yet to kill and sieze the skull of the ever-feared ALIEN (Xenomorph). We came to know this in ALien vs. Predator (2004) when the “teen-age” Blooding rituals included hunting Alien prey via human hosts every 100 years. The Blooded Predators are Predators that have successfully killed an Alien, if not many and siezed their skull(s). Blooded Predators; if they survive tend to join clans of their own as they would now be accepted by the others.

In Alien vs. Predator, we were introduced to a few new features about the Predator. For one, we learned about their history and how they become hunters via killing ALIENS. On another note, we learned about how they would help man build so to say aswell as trap ALIEN Queens and force them to lay eggs to fuel their ritualistic hunts every 100 years. The Predator has come a long way sinse its deput in PREDATOR, the mystery is slowly deminishing and we are learning more and more about it as a species and as a race. The Predator is the ultimate hunter.
