Since the trailer’s release I was going to post up a play-by-play trailer analysis for Prometheus, but I figured that has already been done on a few other sites. So, instead I have posted up this article for your reading pleasure which features some insight to the secrets revealed in the released Prometheus media. This includes production stills, posters and bits from the Prometheus trailer.

This article is strictly theory based and of my own opinions. As I mention in the preceding paragraph of the article, you are welcome to (and we encourage you to) post up your own ideas in the Prometheus forums here! So, have a read if you like. Hopefully this article arouses some theories of your own! Read the article here!

New AvPSpectrum Weekly Polls!

We have added a new feature to the AvPSpectrum homepage – online polls. These will expire every week and the results will be posted here and on our 3rd party social sites (facebook, twitter). The polls are directly linked to our forums and record the same votes no matter if you vote on the homepage or in the forum topic. By voting in the forums, you also have the option to add comments however.

We encourage our visitors to let us know their opinions! You can aslo submit possible survey questions that you would like to see appear on the homepage in this forum thread. The current poll will stay active for two weeks to get things rolling, but will go down to one week per poll for polls following this one.

New AvPSpectrum Media Gallery!

We have just finished revising our Alien, Predator media gallery with a new, easier layout and more content. We will continue to add more content daily, so be sure to check it out. As usual, registered members of AvPSpectrum have free access to their own personal albums where users can upload and share their own Alien and Predator artwork.

Viewing our gallery is absolutely free and is open to the publicand is not restricted to members only. So enjoy browsing our collection of Alien & Predator artwork! But we do encourage artists to sign up and upload their own AvP artwork so that others may enjoy it as well!

AvPSpectrum Previews Aliens CM

We have posted our first preview article for our new “Previews” section of the website. You can read our in depth preview of Aliens Colonial Marines here. We discuss the setting of the game, the introduction, the Alien species present, the weapons you’ll get to use as the Colonial Marines, the different gameplay types and some unqiue trivia about the game!

We’re Back… AvPS Relaunches!

Well, it’s been a while since this place was updated and we had gone into a bit of a hyper sleep for the past year. For that, I appologize to our many fans and visitors. Prior to our inactivity, we had said goodbye to AvPSpectrum.com and moved over to a new domain: AliensvsPredator3.com due to the popularity the AvP game was receiving at the time. But since then, I have received countless emails asking what happened to AvPSpectrum. We had built a reputation on being one of the friendliest AvP community sites on the net and people grew very fond of us for it. Sadly however, the past year has been filled with much work and learning that running the site had become a lower priority…

But, with the upcoming Alien film ‘Prometheus’ by Ridley Scott, and SEGA’s Aliens Colonial Marines; which actually looks hopefull this year, I am very proud to announce the return of Aliens vs. Predator AvP Spectrum (.com)! We are back, we are live and we will continue to bring you the latest on AvP and awesome Alien and Predator giveaways!

With this update, I have lightened the site up a bit. Taking out any and all repetative content and will be working hard over the next few nights to update each and every article we have on the site to work with our new design. This new design should get us higher on search engines and definitely draw in a nice crowd. I know things have been slow around here lately, but we are making our comeback, and what better time than right now – as we prepare for two highly anticipated Alien titles!

I will be taking some time later tonight to post up a few artcles to recap on all the news we’ve missed and will from then on keep you all up to date on the latest AvP news. I thank everyone who satayed active in the forums, and I welcome any and all new members who wish to take part in exciting discussions and contests here on AvP Spectrum!

New Site Coming Soon!

AliensVsPredator3.com will be upgrading to a completely new, custom system which the site will run off of in the coming month! The new site will feature an in depth user panel, allowing for users to submit status updates, games they’re playing currently, personal blogs, comments, profile pictures, links, etc… the profiles will be upgraded significantly.

As for content, the website content will not change. The design will however. We are creating a new design (currently in construction) which should speed up load times for pages aswell as feature some neat new add-ons. More interactive modules so that members have more infleuence when it comes to running the site. We are focussing heavily on the community and news aspects, as always and will be debuting a site preview in the next couple of weeks to Subscribers, and screenshot previews to regular members shortly following.

AliensVsPredator3.com will continue to act as your number one source for AvP news and info. Watch the forums for daily status updates on the project!

Version 9.2 Complete!

AliensVsPredator 3 (V2), or continuing on from our previous AvP Spectrum Version 9, we are in our site’s 9th version. We have updated a lot over this past year, trying to tailor the site to be more efficient and user friendly while still promoting the latest and most accurate Alien & Predator news. We transferred our entire domain name over to aliensvspredator3.com to further promote upcoming promotions and the possible AvP3 film that could show it’s head any moment, especially with the recent Predator reboot and the upcoming Alien Prerquel(s). So, AvP3 is what we are known as now, and as we come into the new year of 2011, we have made some adjustments and additions to the site’s framework.

The layout is smoother and darker than our previous version, and we’ve updated our “Across the Aliens Universe” section in the footer to host a list of popular reviews, articles and our upcoming AvPGame Nights! (In affiliation with parteneredsite; AVP.NET). We have also added our “AvPSite Network” column under that which showcases the other AvP sites we host and support. AvPOE, we host their forums. Be sure to check them out! Predators-Saga.NET is still early in development, but should speed up as we come into January.

The sidebars have been completely redesigned, inspired by IGN.com’s design, we are taking that road to further make AvP3 the ultimate Alien & Predator resource website. Throughout 2011, AvP3′s staff and Contributors will be writing multiple series of articles on EVERYTHING AvP, and that isn’t an understatement. We will literally host info and specs on anything and everything Alien & Predator. Our database will grow exponentially and we will be the largest database for Alien and Predator info, downloads, trivia and more.

We hope you enjoy the updates and we hope this makes browsing AvP3 a little easier for you. Soon, our comment system will be integrated with our forums, so members will be able to comment on stories without having to log in a second time. Thanks for using AliensVsPredator3.com!
