It’s been mentioned for a couple days now that Patrick Wilson may play “Charles Weyland” in Prometheus according to IMDB, who previously had him listed as “Cocooned Man“. Mind you, IMDB still have Kate Dickie set to play the role of “Imora”; while in a newspaper interview with Kate Dickie we became aware of 9 days ago, her character’s name was mentioned to be “Mudow”. So, who knows if this is in fact accurate. But regardless we thought we’d make a mention of it anyways.

In related news, the official Prometheus website has been announced at: “PrometheusMovie.com” – however, there is no word as to when the official site will go live.

Update: Apparently Patrick Wilson is NOT Charles Weyland in Prometheus, according to his recent Twitter update:@patrickwilson73 I’m not gonna make a habit on commenting on rumors, but I am NOT Charles Weyland in #Prometheus. IMDB is wrong. I am in it, though..”

A new Prometheus film poster has been revealed today. It differs slightly from the first one which was released. This version is apparently the new International Poster for Prometheus and is significantly brighter and shows more of the “Giant Head” statue which so many fans are speculating about.

MTV recently caught up with actor Guy Pearce at the Golden Globe the other day and managed to get a few answers out of him regarding Prometheus. For starters, he IS in the film Prometheus, putting many speculative theories to rest on if he was or not. Secondly, he tells us that Prometheus will have a ‘little bit’ of that 70s feel to it.  Here’s an excerpt form the article:

MTV: When asked about his experience on set, Pearce said it was everything we’d assume it would be, amazing and fantastic.

Guy Pearce: “I’m only [in the film] for a minute, but it was a real honor to work with Ridley [Scott], to see what was going on,” he said. “I think Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace and Charlize Theron and everybody will do a really spectacular job.”

MTV: Before Pearce was whisked away from us to get settled into his seat, we asked him about the feel of the film, whether it has the old school “Alien” sheen from the late 70s or now.

Guy Pearce: “A little bit,” he admitted. “A little bit.”

InStyle.co.uk sat down with actor Michael Fassbender to discuss various films he has been a part of and a little bit about our highly anticipated film; Prometheus! When asked what he (Fassbender) could tell us about Prometheus, he replied by saying:

“It’s the must-see film of 2012! I play the humanoid android. The first thing that struck me was a good script. Really intelligent script. A real thriller. Real anticipation. The first alien had that. The atmosphere was thick. You knew that something was going to happen. Which is very rare that you can read that in a script. And also, Ridley Scott is the master. He’s amazing. Really something else to watch him work. His attention to detail. And also his mischievousness, his playfulness. And again, no idea is stupid for him. He’ll let you bring it to the floor and have a go at it. I really, really enjoyed working with him. And of course the cast.” – Michael Fassbender via InStyle.co.uk

Catch Michael Fassbender as “David”, a humanoid Android in this summer’s highly anticipated movie Prometheus, along with Noomi Rapace, Idris Elba, Charlize Theron and Logan Marshall-Green!

The L.A Times have posted up an interview with Damon Lindelof, writer for Prometheus where he promises Prometheus will be ‘epic’.

“The movie is definitely epic in its scope. One of the filmmakers that we ended up talking about to a fair degree of redundancy was David Lean, who directed ‘Lawrence of Arabia,’” he said. “We wanted to make the movie feel big by having the characters be small in big spaces. That connected to the larger themes we were talking about — that we’re all just these little gnats crawling around on our little planet.” Said Lindelof.

An interview with Prometheus movie actress Kate Dickie has been found in the Scottish newspaper the “Daily Star” and features some interesting information about Kate Dickie’s character, now known as “Mudow” as well as some plot details. From what we could read, these were the main points we took from the article:

  • Kate Dickie’s character only lasts for about 28 minutes of screen time before an “Alien eats her”
  • They meet a terrifying host of vicious, skeletal monstrosities which chase the crew through the halls of their ship, the Prometheus
  • She helps the crew of the Prometheus get fit after 5 years of hypersleep
  • She hints that the end of Prometheus will tie into the events of the first Alien film
