A new promotional image for Aliens Colonial Marines has surfaced; originally a strip from a cover of PC Gamer magazine a few months ago. The scene depicts a marine (who is being named as “Winter”; apparently the main marine character in the game) being attacked by Aliens.
Also, apparently we can expect new gameplay this thursday, September 29th, so check back for updates and new footage!

Forum member and Site Staff: Chris!(($$))! stumbled upon some new pictures from Gearbox’s Halloween party this past weekend, and look in the background! It may be hard to see on some, but it definately looks like the Derelict from Alien (1979). Does this mean that this may be one of the missions we’ll face in Aliens Colonial Marines? Who knows, but this certainly looks promissing! Take a look a the photos below:

As you can see in the middle of all these pics, in the background there is a definite shot of something “ALIEN”, and it looks to be the Derelict from what we can tell. A special thanks to Chris!(($$))! for the tip!
Hollywoodnews.com is reporting a small article on the possible inclusion of actress; Gemma Arterton in Ridley Scott’s upcoming Alien Prequels. Below is a chunk out of the article:

“Though the curvy British actress was relegated to eye candy in “Prince of Persia,” the latest Bond adventure, and a “Clash of the Titans” remake, she showed acting chops in an underseen abduction thriller “The Disappearance of Alice Creed” and looks to be carrying Stephen Frears’ festival comedy, “Tamara Drewe.”
Positive buzz is earning Arterton conversations with major directors for a handful of anticipated titles. The actress told The Sunday Times (via Digital Spy) that she’s meeting with Sir Ridley Scott for the chance to headline the director’s back-to-back “Alien” prequels.
In the same article, Arterton said she’s going to appear in “The Keys To The Street,” an adaptation of a Ruth Rendell novel that was penned by “Inception” director Christopher Nolan; as well as a Richard E. Grant-helmed cowboy film titled “In With The Outlaws.”
We have e-mails out to studio reps to confirm Arterton’s flurry of activity. There’s no doubt she is a hot commodity right now, but just how many of these meetings lead to legitimate jobs has yet to be decided.
What do you think? Has Arterton impressed you in her previous roles? Do you want to see her headlining an “Alien” prequel, or saddling up for a western? Hit our Comments section and let your voice be heard.” [-Hollywoodnews.com]

Deadline is reporting that Damon Lindelof will rewrite the Alien prequel script:
“Damon Lindelof has taken his first big solo screenwriting job since concluding the ABC series Lost. I’m been told that he closed a deal to do rewrite work on 20th Century Fox’s Alien prequel, which the studio hopes Ridley Scott will direct as his next assignment.
In a development as vexing as a Lost plotline, studio insiders said that while Lindelof indeed met with Scott and the studio for that rewrite job, the exchange of ideas between them sparked a take that could well turn out to be a free-standing science fiction film. The studio will decide when Lindelof turns it in. Scott Free is producing and Lindelof’s CAA reps closed his deal last night.
Lindeloff is currently writing with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci Paramount’s Star Trek sequel, on which Lindelof is a producer. He also teamed with Kurtzman and Orci to write the Jon Favreau-directed Cowboys and Aliens, which is shooting now with Daniel Craig and Harrison Ford.
That’s plenty of action, but Im told that Lindelof jumped at this opportunity because Scott’s 1979 space thriller Alien was such a seminal influence on him. Resuscitating the Alien franchise has been a big priority for Fox, which has a script by Jon Spaihts, who wrote the Gabriele Muccino-directed Keanu Reeves-starrer Passengers for Morgan Creek, and whose drafts on the Alien film persuaded Scott to move from producing the film to directing it.” – DeadLine

Browsing the forums today, I came across a new post, made by Aliens Colonial Marines News Junky; Chris!(($$))! who posted up two new CGI model shots from the upcoming game.
The Model Renderings seem to feature the “Hadley’s Hope” sign form LV-426, the colony settlement seen in the film ‘ALIENS’ and the other ressembles the barricades that we saw also from ‘ALIENS’ which acted as the last line of deffence for the innocent victims when the Xenomorphs took over the complex. You can view them in our gallery!
Hopefully some more news on Aliens Colonial Marines will pop up as we near the end of 2010. But this little tid bit is good for now. Thank you to Chris!(($$))! for posting the find, and the original source from GearBox Forum member; Takhen. Watch AvP Spectrum for more updates and information on Aliens Colonial Marines!
